// CONCEPT · TARGET: CLOUDLESS iOS

Your camp log
stays on your phone.
Because your favorite spots are not a community datapoint.

Campsake is a proposed cloudless camping & RV trip log. The target design keeps every site, fee, hookup, photo, and boondocking coordinate on the iPhone, with a planned season recap PDF. These capabilities have not been implemented or validated yet.

● NO CLOUD   ● NO ACCOUNT   ● NO COMMUNITY FEED

// THE PROBLEM

The camp log apps want your favorite spots. Campsake doesn't.

Community apps are great for finding a site once. They're also where your boondocking coordinates go to live in someone else's database. Campsake is the personal journal alternative — the site log that stays on your phone.

// THE COMMUNITY-FEED TAX

The Dyrt and iOverlander are great at finding a site once. They're not great at remembering YOUR trip — and the price of using them is helping populate someone else's map. Your favorite quiet pull-off on BLM land becomes a pin everyone can see. Campsake is the journal, not the feed.

// THE NOTES-APP CAMP LOG

Most campers run a camp log out of iOS Notes + camera roll. It works for a season, then breaks: photos lose their site context, dump-station addresses get separated from the trip, fee receipts blur together. Next October you can't remember if site A-12 had 30-amp or 50-amp and you book the wrong rig.

// THE BOONDOCKING MAP

A list of every quiet, free, off-grid spot you've stayed at is exactly the document that should NOT be in a cloud database. The community apps lean on sharing — the more pins, the better. Campsake is built on the opposite thesis: your guarded list stays guarded.

// THE SEASON KEEPSAKE PROBLEM

Families camp because of the trips, but at the end of the year there's nothing to hold — no photo album, no annual recap. Campsake generates a season recap PDF: every trip, every photo grid, fees paid, kid notes. The keepsake the camp log was supposed to produce all along.

// PROPOSED PRODUCT DESIGN

Three pillars. One private camp journal. All on your phone.

The concept centers on three planned capabilities: per-site cards inside a trip, a gear checklist, and a season recap PDF. The exact implementation may change after testing.

01 · TRIP & SITE CARDS

A trip wraps a stack of site cards — name, fees, hookups, photos, notes.

Campsake treats each trip as a container and each site as a structured card. Site name, nightly fee, hookups (30/50 amp, water, sewer), dump-station notes, gear deployed, weather, kid notes, photos. Two weeks later when you're trying to remember why you'd return (or never return), it's all there.

  • Per-site card — fee, hookups, dump-station, gear, weather, kid notes, photos
  • Tap-to-snapshot GPS — no background tracker
  • Favorite / never-again flag — your private rating
  • Per-trip totals — nights, fees, gear used
02 · GEAR CHECKLIST

Pre-trip packing list that learns from the last trip.

Campsake keeps a master gear list — tent, awning, leveling blocks, kid bikes, whatever — and lets you check it off pre-departure. Mark what you actually used after each trip and Campsake starts surfacing the dead weight: the dutch oven you packed for five trips and never lit. v1.1.

  • Master gear list across all trips
  • Pre-departure checklist by trip type (RV / tent / overland)
  • Post-trip "what I actually used" feedback loop
  • Per-vehicle / per-rig profiles
03 · SEASON RECAP PDF

One tap. The whole camping year as a keepsake document.

At the end of a season (or any date range), Campsake generates a multi-page PDF: every trip, photo grids by site, total nights camped, fees paid, gear used most, weather summary, kid notes pulled into a separate section. The PDF is generated on-device and shared via the iOS share sheet — never uploaded.

  • Trip-by-trip section with site cards
  • Photo grids grouped by site
  • Total nights, total fees, average nightly cost
  • Kid-notes pulled separately — the year's quotes
// THE FLOW · FIVE STEPS

New trip → log sites → close trip → season recap PDF.

The whole arc, from spinning up a fresh trip to handing yourself a keepsake at the end of the season. Tap through each step.

One trip at a time. A clean container for the sites that go inside it.

Tap NEW TRIP, give it a name (“Colorado Loop, Summer 2026”), pick a trip type (RV, tent, overland, mixed), and Campsake spins up a fresh container. Multiple trips can sit side-by-side if you're planning the next while the last is still open. No trip ever bleeds into another.

  • Per-trip sandbox — sites, fees, photos, gear, totals all isolated.
  • Trip types — RV / tent / overland / mixed — drives the default checklists.
  • Date range tracking — start, end, total nights logged automatically.
  • Zero account — the trip exists only on this device.

Each site is a real record — fee, hookups, dump-station, photos, kid notes.

Pull into the campsite. Open Campsake, tap ADD SITE, type the site name and number, tap the hookups available (30A / 50A / water / sewer), type the nightly fee, shoot 2–3 photos, drop kid notes if it's that kind of trip. Tap the GPS button once to snapshot the coordinate. The whole flow is under a minute because that's the only way it gets done in a real campground.

  • Site name + number — “Mueller SP, A-12.”
  • Fee + hookups — what you paid, what you got.
  • Dump-station notes — “at exit, $5, paper towels gone Sundays.”
  • Favorite / never-again flag — your private rating for next season.

Campsake keeps a master gear list per rig — tent, awning, leveling blocks, kid bikes, generator, whatever — and lets you check it off pre-departure. After the trip, mark which items you actually deployed. Trip after trip Campsake starts surfacing dead weight: the dutch oven you've packed five trips in a row and never lit. v1.1.

Trip totals lock in the moment you tap CLOSE.

When the trip ends, tap CLOSE TRIP. Campsake locks the trip totals — nights, fees, sites visited, average nightly cost, miles between sites if you logged them. The trip stays editable for two weeks after close in case you remembered a photo or a note, then it freezes into the season archive.

  • Auto-totaled nights and fees — no spreadsheet math.
  • Trip rating — overall pass/fail flag for the season.
  • Two-week edit window — for the photos you forgot to import.
  • Quick-share preview — single-trip mini-PDF if you want one before the full season recap.

// TARGET PRIVACY MODEL

A list of your favorite quiet places should not exist anywhere except inside your phone.

Same engineering thesis as the rest of the MAJESTIC suite — Creelmark, Trail, Object Lore, Lockbox, What We Own, Paws, Brassmark, Claim Crate.

// NO CLOUD
Trips live in encrypted SQLite on your phone. No server has a copy of your favorite spots.
// NO ACCOUNT
No email login, no password, no profile. Open Campsake and start a trip — the app cannot sell what it never collected.
// NO COMMUNITY FEED
There is no submit-this-site button. Your boondocking coordinates are not crowdsourced data points — they're your private journal.
// GPS BY TAP
Campsake never runs background location. A single tap captures the coordinate for a site card — and that pin lives only on your phone.
// WHO'S BUILDING THIS

Built by a military software dev whose family camps because PCS doesn't leave time for much else.

Active-duty software developer, separating in February 2027 to build MAJESTIC MADE full-time. Same hands shipped Lockbox (family emergency vault), What We Own (home inventory), Paws (pet records), Brassmark (firearm registry), Object Lore (collector registry), Claim Crate (PCS move inventory), and Creelmark (fishing journal) — all on the same on-device thesis. Campsake is the camp journal.

Why outdoor families? RV full-timers, weekenders, overlanders, and Scouts leaders all keep notes on what worked and what didn't — and they all hate the community feeds. A focused user group that already trusts the “built by another camp family” signal.
// PROPOSED PRICING

A $1.99 monthly or $14.99 annual model is being considered.

These figures are planning targets, not an offer. Final pricing, trial eligibility, cancellation, refunds, and availability would be shown by the app store if Campsake ships.

// CONCEPT FAQ

The questions camp families keep asking.

Answers describe the target design and remain subject to implementation and testing.

That is the target design: encrypted local storage with no Campsake account, record server, cloud sync, or analytics. The storage and network behavior still require implementation and security testing.
Campsake is proposed as a private personal journal rather than a community campsite database. The concept excludes submissions, a community map, and a leaderboard.
The proposal uses a single tap-to-snapshot location read and excludes background tracking. Battery use and platform behavior have not been measured.
The concepts solve different problems: Trail would record a route, while Campsake would record trip and campsite notes. Bundling is only a roadmap idea.
The proposed recap includes trip sections, photo grids, nights, fees, gear, weather, and kid notes. On-device generation and explicit sharing are target behaviors that still require testing.
The concept is aimed at RV travelers, family campers, overlanders, vanlifers, and group leaders who want structured private trip notes.
Offline trip logging is a core requirement. Exact store-check, export, and backup behavior has not been implemented or tested.
Backup and recovery behavior is unresolved. Platform backup and an encrypted user-managed export may be explored, but recovery will not be promised until fully tested.
The concept deliberately excludes a shared campsite database and social feed. That remains a product requirement for any future implementation.
No platform has been committed. iOS is the current design target; Android remains an unscoped possibility.
